Perfect for those looking to experience the region’s archaeological and cultural treasures in a short amount of time, this adventure includes a four-day trek along the Inca Trail. This is one of the world’s best-known hikes and will reward those willing to break a sweat with a stunning combination of mountain escapes, cloud forests, and jungles. We run our own treks, which ensures the fair treatment of our porters and quality equipment creating an unforgettable journey that remains attached in your memory.

Important:

Peruvian government requires permits to hike on the Inca Trial, limited to 500 people per day, which includes support staff. Permits sell out 4-5 months in advance! So book early.
It is strongly recommended to book your Inca Trail at least 4 months in advance as permits can quickly sell out.
The minimum to open the departure is two people and our maximum is eight so if you guys are two we can do it!

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO -WAYLLABAMBA (training day)

Very early in the morning we pick you up at your hotel at 6:am by bus that will take us to kilometer 82, arriving at about 10:00 a.m. to meet the entire team of professionals who will make your trip a success. Then we will begin our trek. This first day is beautiful and the first few kilometers are easy to walk. We will have the beautiful sight of the snow-capped Veronica peak and will also be walking near the Urubamba River until arriving at the Llactapata archaeological complex, where we will have lunch and later continue up to our first camp at Wayllabamba where will overnight after a restorative dinner.

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYO (challenge day)

After having breakfast starts the most difficult but not impossible part of the trek towards the highest part of the Inca Trail, where you will have an amazing panoramic view of the whole area, where you will be able to observe the different types of micro-climates existing in the area. After a 4 or 5-hour trek, we will pass the clearing called Warmiwañiusca pass or dead woman pass, at about 4.200 m ASL. Here you will have the enormous satisfaction of reaching the highest point of the entire Inca Trail. After this fabulous experience, we will have to t continue descending to Pacaymayo, where we will have lunch and dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: PACAYMAYO – PUYUPATAMARKA – WIÑAY HUAYNA (charming day)

We will start trekking up to the second most important Inca Trail pass at 3.850 m ASL, until arriving at the Runkurakay archaeological site where we will have a guided tour throughout the complex as well as the Sayacmarca citadel. After the guided tour, we will continue our trek up to another important monument, the Puyupatamarka archaeological site, where we will have lunch. After a short break, we will continue on our trek until getting to the last Wiñay Huayna (forever young) camp, where we will have a guided tour of this impressive archaeological site. After the tour, we will have dinner and our last overnight.

DAY 4: WIÑAY HUAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (full of satisfaction)

After breakfast, we will continue our trek very early so as to be on time to see the sunrise at Machupicchu. After a one-hour trek, we will pass through Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol, also known as the entrance gate to Machupicchu, where you will have an amazing panoramic view of the entire citadel. After this experience, we will visit the Inca citadel surroundings for about 3 hours, visiting the main sites such as precincts, plazas, Sacred fountains, Temples, the farming and urban sector. After our guided tour, you will have free time to take photos, etc. We will later reunite with the rest of the group to take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon we will return to Cusco by train.

The night before your trek there will be a pre-trek talk (briefing) in our office or in your hotel (exact time will be confirmed on arrival to Cusco).

To reserve your spot on the trail with travel one expeditions, each person must pay a deposit of $200.00 and then pay the rest at our office in Cusco two days before your trek beings. To get the student discount, please send us a scan of both sides of your student card through email at the time you wish to reserve your spot. The only one Accepted by Peruvian Government is the International ISIC card.

Huaynapicchu Climbing. – You need to book in advance too as the Inca trail because it has a limit capacity of 400 people per day which is divided in to 2 shifts. The first shift is at 7 am, and the second one at 10 am, each shift allows 200 people.
The climb is 50 minutes to an hour, it is a bit narrow but safe, the view of Machu picchu is breathtaking,The sun gate, Urubamaba valley and river.The Price is $70 us dollars.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE TREK

Before start the trek (104 km) will pass a control, you have to present your passport that has been used to make the reservation of the spaces, and all the information has to be the same and will be verified , after the verification you will enter to the trail, in case the information showed is not the same you cannot enter the Inca trail, if you made the reservation with your old passport and then you renewed it for another passport please be in contact as soon as possible with the office to modify this information at Inca Trail´s offices. All sections of the road are marked, which must respect for the preservation and conservation of the route and for your own safety.
The waste or trash that you will generate during the route, please collect and leave it in the dumpster that exists in the route, if you are in the camping please bring your waste to the porter or cook, they will leave it in recycling bags.
Campfires are strictly prohibited by the regulation, because the area is very vulnerable, the area has suffered many fires over the previous years.
Not permitted to climb the walls of the archaeological sites, it is not allowed pick up flowers, hunt animals or to take stones.
The route is quite safe, there are some sections that are narrow, where you need to be careful, in this place the view of the mountains is amazing, deep valleys, rivers. If you want to observe you must stop and then continue the tour to avoid any misstep or accident.
In case of any emergency, please contact immediately with the guide or trail workers who are on duty to assist any incident in the route.
